Speed camera warn, leather, electric seats, can heat up 3 levels.

The ride is firm because it has a tight suspension. The steering is easy to handle. Being short though means I can not put my foot on the pedals and have my right arm rest on the middle console. I think most new cars I looked at came the same way with armrest supposed to be on the middle console which does not move with you if your seat goes up. . I did tell mazda I liked the way the arm rest was on my old Honda which folded down from the seat on the right, so short people and tall people can rest their arm no matter where the driver seat is placed. The car has blind side warning, lane assisted warning, navigation, back up camera, wiper sensors, speed adjust s automatically on cruise control. After I got it I realized it had a speed camera warning sensor you can turn on. It will speak to you that a camera is coming up, but it is too sensitive and needs to be refined. It ends up warning you for cameras that are on nearby roads even if you are on a highway and there are no cameras on highways with speed limits above 55. If you blow a tire be prepared to spend $400 to replace it. They are 19 inch wheels. I like the grand touring package as it comes with all amenities like electric seat adjust, lumbar adjust, heated front seats, dual temperature control, leather seats which are not slippery because they have holes in them. You can control the radio channel and volume from on the front driver wheel. The car doors lock automatically when you go into gear. You can turn on or off smart features if you like. I have mine to automatically lock all doors when I leave. You can also lock it from remote control. Car has a key fob, you use a button to start it. I also got remote start which I use from my house mainly if it is too cold to warm it up. Three people can sit in back, but I a single user. When navigation screen is on, you can see the speed of the road you are on and it adjusts itself accordingly. It will turn red on screen if you go over. If you are tired at night and go over 40 mpg, you can set it to beep if you go out of your lane. It is a safe car, you can turn on any feature you want, or turn off any feature. You customize to your liking.

Ergonomic, comfortable, and smooth.

This vehicle has been great so far. Although it is a bit slow on acceleration, it seems to have enough power and can get you out of a tight spot. The sport / manual mode does have a bit more power, but it is just not as much fun as an actual stick shift. The feature that sold us on this vehicle over several others in its class is the fact that there's an option to get upgraded Audio / navigation / sunroof / etc. without being forced to have leather seats. Most vehicles only offer leather seats with upgraded interior, but 8 months out of the year in Arizona it is 100-118 degrees, and no one wants leather seats! Its bucket seats are very comfortable and although I haven't had to ride in the back seat, it seems comfortable. The interior cloth is easy to clean - again, very important in the summer. The back seat folds down almost flat, and our 2 large breed dogs can ride pretty comfortably back there. There's room for them to stand up, which impressed us. It is not very long but it has more height that you would think. I like the ergonomics, too; all the radio, navigation, and menu options for the flat screen are down near the shifter, so you can control everything with your arm resting comfortably on the console. The only other downside is that it locks after only about 20 seconds outside of the vehicle, so when gassing up or walking to it in a parking lot, I have to keep unlocking it. But, overall, this car has been pretty great so far.

Top notch safety features.

The only problem we have had with it was last winter when some rodents got in the engine and chewed through something that messed with the electrical functions. The repair shop said that it was because of the material that particular area was made of, which Mazda started using because it is better for the environment. Otherwise, I love this SUV. It is compact but roomy on the inside, and the safety features are top notch. The other day, when I was driving on the highway, a car switched lanes and was so close to my front bumper that the car began alerting, telling me to break immediately. Then, today, I was stopped at a red light, and when it turned green, the car in front of me started to go straight, then slammed on their brakes suddenly to make a right turn instead. Before I could even react to that, my car suddenly stopped and made a funny noise because my foot was still on the gas pedal (I guess). I still haven't fully processed that the car in front of me had a sudden change in plan, and my first thought was that the transmission in my car just went out. After a couple of seconds, I was back on my way though, and my car ran perfectly fine the rest of the day. Now, I think that it stopped to prevent me from hitting the car that was in front of me, and would not let the gas pedal function until the car had completely moved from being in front of any sensor.
