2017 Cadillac XT5: What is the oil type and capacity?

The 2017 Cadillac XT5 comes in a total of SRX different configurations. However, each and every configuration comes with the same 3.6L V6 engine, so the oil specification will not vary. You'll need 6.0 quarts of SAE 0W-30 full synthetic motor oil. In a pinch -- and if You're in a temperature climate -- You can substitute SAE 5W-30 instead. The use of the latter is not recommended, especially over the long term. This is because it has an inferior viscosity at startup, which can make Your engine work harder to produce the same output. This, coupled with friction, can lead to premature engine wear, which can send Your XT5 to an earlier grave than it would if You had used the recommended oil type.
