The 2013 Chevy Silverado did not come from the factory with a cabin air filter. There are kits available for around $60.00 that allow You to retrofit a filter into the Silverado. This requires removing the vent shroud from below the gloveboxAnd cutting a hole into the vent duct where normally a cabin air filter would be found. To determine if Your Silverado has had a cabin air filter installed, remove the four 7mm bolts from the plastic shroud below the glovebox. If there is a cover that is removeable, a previous owner has installed one. If it doesnt, its not going to hurt anything to leave it as is unless You normally drive in dusty condition, then it is more of a convenience.

I just watched aYouTube on how to replace the filter. After taking the panle off come to my surprise there was not a access door on my system. Look behind my glove box and the only thininig found was a screen way up under the dash. Have not check that out yet.

2007-2013 don't have one installed from the factory. GM does sell a retrofit kit though. To be more inclusive, 2003-2013 don't have a cabin air filter.
