The 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 is part of a generation of trucks that are not equipped with a cabin air filter. Beginning in 2017, Dodge introduced the CAF to this model, and most current trucks are outfitted with one under the dashboard behind the glove compartment box or under the hood. The cabin air filter is considered to be an integral part of a healthy environment, keeping the interior of their truck free of dust, dirt and allergy causing pollens. A filter also works with the HVAC system to protect the fan and ducts from clogging or damage. When servicing a CAF, keep in mind it must be changed as a part of Your vehicle's routine maintenance schedule, and while this interval varies based on make and model owned, most manufacturers recommend replacing the CAF at least every 15,000 and 30,000 miles to keep the interior of the truck clean.
