If You have been looking for a cabin air filter on Your 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500, I've got some news for You. Your Chevy Silverado does not have a cabin air filter but You need not worry. Your Silverado comes with a kind of preinstalled non serviceable type of filter. It's actually a plastic mesh that prevents foreign objects from entering Your HVAC system. It basically performs all of the functions that a cabin filter does but with this one, You don't need to replace it. This way, You don't have to worry about replacing a filter or remembering that it needs to be replaced.
Good answer Tyler. If there is no cabin air filter, Kevin might want to tell O'Reilly Auto Parts they don't have one because they sell about 10 different ones for an '09 Silverado.
Hello I have also have a 2009 Chevy Silverado the answer for your question depends. Chevy doesn’t have air filter but they left a slot underneath the passenger glove box for you to install a retrofitted air filter keep in mind you have to cut the plastic for the slot. They did how ever added a place to add a screw for a retro fit air filter. To assess the slot you need to take out the bottom plastic cover underneath the glovebox. There is YouTube videos that show a how-to.
Both can't be right. It either does or doesn't. Need someone that knows for sure before u start taking things apart trying to find it.

Apparently there are two generations of the 2009 where one has a caving air filter and the other doesn’t. Same with the rear drum brake shoes. One has updated shoes that won’t fit the other that had traditional shoes/springs.
