The 2010 Toyota RAV4 uses a timing chain for both itS4Cylinder and 6-cylinder engines. Unlike belts, chains have a much longer life span and generally are expected to last the life of a vehicle. They also do not require the kind of maintenance that a belt would. That said it is possible to break one or have it get thrown loose. If this happens You will notice the car begin to overheat almost instantly. When looking around online for a new one make sure You get the right thing. Some places call them cam belts and use this for both timing belts and chains. Price can range a bit, but generally, they will cost You between 50 and 100 dollars.

The 2010 Toyota RAV4 uses a timing chain for both its 4-cylinder and 6-cylinder engines. Normally, these parts are more durable than a timing belt and require less maintenance.

Those chains will last as long as the Toyota engines can still run!
