The 2011 Chevy Silverado does have a fuel filter. Car parts will be eventually become ineffective. The fuel filter needs to be replaced every 30,000 miles. If it doesn't, You will come across issues with the performance. Having the fuel burn optimally is crucial to maximizing Your miles per gallon. Your gas tank needs to be in the best of shape. You will come into problems at some point or another. The gas tank might become loose. A bad control valve may arise. There may be gas leaks, which need to be looked into pronto. The gas cap can become stuck and will be quite an ordeal to deal with.

How is that the "top answer" says the fuel filter should be replaced every 30,000 miles, then the very next answer says it is considered a "lifetime" part? Are these ppl just guessing? Surely there is a place on the internet where I can find "real" answers to a very simple question.

Does a 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500hd have a inline fuel filter
My 2011 Silverado 5.3L vin. 3 has an inline fuel filter under driver side door in the frame rail where it is secured. The filter in the tank is standard with all electric in-tank fuel pumps and is always replaced when the pump is replaced and Yes, it is a lifetime filter, the lifetime of the pump that is.....not the vehicles lifetime.
