Remote start was not a standard feature in the 2011 Ford Escape but the MyKey will work with certain aftermarket systems. Check with Your local dealer for a list of Ford approved remote starters. Aftermarket units can be as installed on the Escape from a couple hundred dollars up to $500. Remote start is a nice convenience feature, it allows You to pre-warm the vehicle for those freezing winter days or cool it down during those sweltering summer months. Some have claimed a remote start helps with oil lubrication in the winter months when oils can thicken. Some communities have banned allowing Your vehicle to sit and idle so check with Your local officials to make sure that You are in compliance with the laws.

Yes, the 2011 Ford Escape can be equipped with a remote start but only as an option on all trims, the XLS, XLT and the Limited.
