The 2015 Ford Explorer with Sync 3 has optional Apple CarPlay available with a software update. Apple CarPlay has the ability to bring apps from Your iPhone to the touch screen in Your car which is a fairly new feature. CarPlay is becoming common on cars because it gives a better user experience when paired with an iPhone compared to just the standard built in navigation options. The ability to choose Your maps as well as have better control over Your music has become very popular. If Your Explorer has Sync3 and does not have CarPlay working You should visit a dealer because they can install it with a simple software update.

The 2015 Ford Explorer does not come with Apple CarPlay, but Ford now offers a software update available, so the 2015 Explorer can be Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatible.
