The 2015 Ford Explorer does have optional GPS that is available. This can be used for navigation with the Ford Sync system. The GPS system has an antenna that is located on the rear of the SUV and looks like a shark fin. This is what is used to communicate with the satellites to help position the vehicle for navigation. This GPS system is different than a tracking system because it does not work passively in the background, only when the navigation is on and being used. There are optional kits that can allow You to track the vehicle using the antenna and those would need to be installed by a Ford dealership.

The 2015 Ford Explorer has GPS available via Ford SYNC, but in order to use Waze, you'll need to get a software update for your infotainment system/Ford SYNC.
