A backup camera is an available option on the two highest trims of the 2018 Dodge Journey, the Crossroads and the GT. If You want to have a backup camera on any other trims You will need to go the aftermarket route. This can be something as simple as a wireless camera and display to something more in depth that uses the stock in-dash display. Backup cameras are becoming more and more common on most new vehicles and for good reason. They can not only help You avoid small accidents but also stop You from backing into kids or pets. A lot of the newer options also include a dashcam as part of the display so that is an additional perk of installing one.

For some reason our Dodge Journey crossroad did not come with backup camera! We tried to get one installed at the dealership and the part was not available ! How do we get the part?

Most do, but not all. Backup cameras was superposed to be required by 2015, but somehow their was a delay in the requirement.

Yes, the 2018 Dodge Journey offers an option for a backup camera, but only on the Crossroads and GT trims. The optional Driver Confidence Group package is kind of a mishmash of different features from combining different packages. It's difficult to find descriptions of the features online, but are probably available at the dealership. It should be noted that backup cameras are standard on most competitive 2018 models. The SE AWD has option the same options s the GT and Crossroads, including a backup camera, but the FWD model SE and SXT don't have any options other than aftermarket add-ons. Just remember, If your vehicle is still under warranty, make sure adding the backup camera won't have a negative effect.
