All three available engine options for the 2019 Hyundai Elantra come equipped with a timing chain which is good news to many of us who have dealt with timing belt issues in the past. The chains are much more reliable and should last considerably longer as long as You follow Your regular oil change schedule. The oil helps to keep the chain lubricated and prevents it from wearing down quickly. In many cases the chain will last for the entire lifespan of Your engine. Timing chains can still be broken though and if this happens You may notice loud rattling noises, engine mIS Fires, or excessive shaking while idling. This is a serious problem and You should have it repaired as soon as You can. -
