The GMC Terrain does have AWD. Having great steering is important for changing lanes and moving about on the road. You will eventually come across some problems though. Steering fluid can leak at one point. It may turn to one side. The steering wheel can become stuck. The strut bearings could become bad. The rack mount could become faulty. The steering pump might become loose and that will be disaster for Your vehicle. The power steering fluid needs to be replaced every 75,000 miles. Along with changing fluids, You will hear noises from steering parts. A faulty bearing will make a nasty sound. A loose bearing will become irritable to the ear.

The 2018 GMC Terrain does not offer 4WD but has AWD and front wheel drive. The base model SL comes with front wheel drive. The SLE, SLT, SLE Diesel, SLT Diesel and the Denali can all be purchased with front wheel drive or all wheel drive - AWD.
I have AWD on my 2018 Terrain SLE and it is great in snow!
