If Your 2011 Ford Edge is having some electronic problems then You will want to check the charging system. Usually if the vehicle is not starting it is a problem with the battery being dead, however if You want to know if there are problems with the alternator You will need to test it. The simplest way to test Your alternator is to do it while the vehicle is running. Connect a multimeter to Your battery while it is on and see what the voltage is. You should have voltage somewhere between 14.2 and 14.6. That is usually a sign of a healthy alternator. There are also specific alternator and battery test tools on the market that can simulate a load on them to make sure that they can keep up with an amperage draw.

When there is a check charging system on a 2011 ford edge it means that the battery is not being charged by the alternator which could be caused by a alternator that is faulty, corrosion or malfunctioning of the battery or loose connections.

Not always. Replaced battery, alternator and there is a wiring issue in the cabling. Could also be the voltage regulator.
