On the 2005 Chevy Equinox to check Your transmission fluid You will need to locate the dipstick. It is hidden down at bottom of the transmission . Looking from the front of the truck, it is to the right of the starter. It is a yellow dipstick with a hold-down bolt. Checking the transmission fluid consists of pulling the transmission dipstick out while the engine is warmed up and running and with the transmission in park. It's important to regularly check the transmission fluid level between service intervals. Letting Your car run low on transmission fluid can cause the transmission to shift improperly or not at all.

How to check /service trans fluid on 2005 Equinox ? You don't. You can't check it. Dipstick is hidden and inaccessible. It is necessary to remove an engine bracket/brace to access the filler tube. (See Youtube). Rather simple. Took guy on Youtube seven minutes. Otherwise drain-fill procedure is like changing oil. Simple.
