There is no particular limp mode reset procedure in the 2005 Nissan Altima; You'll have to fix the transmission problem that caused the vehicle to go into limp mode in the first place. After doing so, You'll be able to turn Your ignition off for one minute or longer. If everything is copacetic when You turn it back on, Your Altima will automatically exit limp mode. It's important to note that limp mode isn't random; it's put in place to prevent serious damage to Your transmission. If You're experiencing this, You'll need to diagnose and repair the problem as soon as possible, or You risk catastrophic failure of Your transmission. As such, You shouldn't be looking for ways to reset; You should be looking for ways to repair.

To perform a limp mode reset in a 2005 nissan altima, turn the ignition to on for 3 seconds. Pump the accelerator hard 5 times. After the fifth time, wait 7 seconds and then hold down the accelerator for 10 seconds. Release for 10 seconds, and continue to press down and release like this for about a dozen times. The vehicle should be out of limp mode.
