While an anti-theft system can be a great deterrent against thieves and other ne'er-do-wells, it can also sometimes prevent You from accessing Your own vehicle. That's not what the manufacturer intended -- well, at least I hope it's not -- so You'll need to perform an anti-theft reset to get Your 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee working properly and back in Your own hands. The process for doing so is quite simple. You'll need to open the driver's side door with all other doors closed. Then, press the power door lock switch located on the key fob. Finally, close the driver's side door, and leave all doors closed for a little over fifteen seconds, until the vehicle security light on the dashboard stops its quick flashing. The slow flash indicates that the system has successfully reset.

To reset the 2006 jeep grand cherokee anti theft system unlock the driver's side door with the key and then lock it, and then unlock it again and the system should be cleared.
