To reset the security system on the 2011 GMC Terrain, You'll actually just need to disarm it; doing so and waiting for a brief timeout period is the same as resetting the system. This is an incredibly simple procedure, and You'll be spending more time waiting for the system to reset than You'll actually be spending following the steps. First, press the unlock button on the key fob, also known as the remote keyless entry (RKE) transmitter. The unlock button is the one with a picture of an open lock. After You've done so, enter the vehicle and turn the ignition to the ON/RUN position for at least 30 seconds; this will give the system time to reset. If this does not work, then You've most likely got a faulty component, and You'll need to perform a replacement before the system will work as intended.

To reset the security system or immobolizer in your 2011 gmc terrain depress the key fob's panic button for five seconds before pressing the lock button twice standing 10 feet away from the vehicle. Follow by depressing the unlock button twice and your immobolizer should be reset.

I got mine reset the way the dealership instructed. Hold down the panic button on the key fob with the blade key flipped open while calmly walking around the vehicle once starting at the rear lift gate in a clockwise motion then once at the rear lift gate completing a 360 run back the opposite way rapidly pushing the unlock button and snatch the drvers door han
