If You're just trying to disarm the system on Your 2014 Mazda3 , You'll need to turn the ignition on using the correctly progRammed key. The security indicator light should illuminate for around 3 seconds and then turn off. According to Mazda, if You ever see the security indicator light start flashing continuously while You're driving, You shouldn't shut off the engine, but take it to an authorized Mazda dealer immediately to have it checked. Ever get the sense the people who write those manuals haven't ever lived where it'S60 miles to an authorized dealer One trick to dealing with the immobilizer is to turn the (mechanical) key to unlock Your door, and just hold it in that position for up to 30 seconds. It seems silly, but sometimes it's those tricks that work best.

To reset the security system or immobolizer in your 2014 mazda 3 vehicle, depress the key fob's panic button for five seconds before pressing the lock button twice standing 10 feet away from the vehicle. Follow by depressing the unlock button twice and your immobolizer should be reset.

Someone tried to break into my car, damaging the keyway so inserting a key was impossible. When I tried to unlock the door with the key fob, it didn't work. The Mazda dealer denies there is any lockout system, but I was unable to get in, nor did they suggest any reset procedure. When I tried calling AAA, the car would pickup the call, making contacting them difficult ; the backup lights were on also. When the tow truck driver finally arrived, he said there IS a lockout system, but the dealer denies there is any such system, so couldn't say how to deactivate it. I will certainly try Leroy R's procedure--thank you!--if this ever happens again, but it's disappointing that the dealer doesn't understand the cars they sell.
