To do an adblue reset on the 2014 VW Passat You will first want to get into the car and shut the doors. Once You have done this You will need to insert the key to the ignition and turn it to the on position, but do not start the engine. Now press down on the gas pedal and take it all the way to the floor. Hold it there for about a minute and You will see the glow plug start to blink. When it does slowly let up on the pedal, and once it comes all the way back up turn the ignition off. The adblue is now reset.

I did this and I did not see a glow plug illuminate. So, am I suppose to press on the gas pedal to the floor, midway?

To perform an adblue reset in a 2014 vw passat tdi, turn the ignition to on without starting the engine. Push down on the gas pedal and keep it down until you see the glow plug illuminate again. Wait for it to stop blinking and turn off the ignition. Wait 10 seconds, turn the ignition back to on and press the gas pedal down two times.

My 2014 Passat TDI has no key ignition, just push button start. Without a key ignition, how can I reset my adblue light?

This did not work for me, nor did running the car hard. I had filled the tank with Blue Def and failed to follow the delayed start procedure. I finally cleared the warning by placing the adblue status on the dash display (No start in 500 miles) and then push and hold the 0.0/Set (triangular button on the middle bottom corner of the dash display) which then cleared the warning, which has not returned.

Out of necessity I had to continue to drive my 2014 Passat after refilling the Adblue and the miles reaching zero with the will not restart indicator periodically going off. I started to research, called mechanic, etc. I’m the end I drove enough miles for the error codes to reset and voila! No more warnings, threats, just reset as it should’ve originally. I hope this helps. I did not shut my car off until the warning lights were no more.

Check for DTC, save codes and clear DTC. Now try doing the reset as mention above

The warning on my passat stops as soon as I add def to the def reservoir.
