The oil change light on Your 2018 VW Passat needs to be reset after every oil change so that the system can determine when the next oil change is due. If You don't reset the light, You will find that Your vehicle will indicate that You need another oil change sooner than would be necessary. The procedure only takes a few moments. First, turn the ignition on but don't start the engine. Now, slowly press the accelerator to the floor 3 times within 5 seconds. After doing this, You will notice that the oil light will flash and then it will be reset. You have completed the procedure and You can turn Your ignition off.

The answerJerrie Posted is incorrect. Hold the “0.0/set” button with the key off. While holding the button turn the key to the “on” position a prompt will pop up on your gauge display giving you the option to reset.

To reset the oil level warning or maintenance light in your 2018 vw passat vehicle, turn the ignition key to the "on" position and depress the gas pedal slowly three times. Release and start your vehicle and the oil light should indicate a reset.
