From time to time, You may have a malfunction with the 2010 Chevrolet Malibu's anti-theft system. Before You decide to reset, make sure that there isn't an issue with Your key or key fob; many drivers report that the ultimate cause of their anti-theft woes were d***y or damaged keys, which don't allow Your system to confirm that You are the authentic user. If You're certain that Your Malibu needs reset, You can go one of two routes. You can disconnect the negative battery terminal for 15 to 30 minutes. This isn't always effective though. The other method is to unlock the door with Your key and open it. Turn the ignition to the "On" position without starting the engine, and leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes. Turn the ignition off. Repeat the process two to three times. Wait one minute after the final attempt, and then start the car.

First unlock the door with a key, open the door and leave it open, then put the ignitiont the on position and let it stay for 10 to 15 minutes. Now put the ignition off and take out the key from ignition. Wait one minute to start the car.
