The easiest way to reset the anti theft system on a 2012 Dodge Avenger is by disconnecting the negative battery terminal for fifteen to thirty minutes, and then reconnecting it. This should reset the system. However, some faults persist through a power-down, so You might need to take additional steps. If this is the case, You can perform the anti-theft reset by locking all the doors with Your key fob, then unlock only the driver's side. Get into the vehicle and put Your key into the ignition. Cycle the power on and off three times (without starting the engine). This should effectively reset the system.

To reset the alarm on the 2012 dodge avenger you need to lock all the doors, then unlock the driver side and put the key into the on position. Now turn it off and then back on twice and it will reset.
