Resetting the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) in Your 2016 Jeep Patriot needs to be done after You've changed the cold air pressure in Your tires. You can find the recommended pressure on the placard inside the frame of the door. To reset the system and turn the light off, turn the key in the ignition to ON, but don't start the engine. Locate the reset button beneath and to the left of the steering column. Press that button and hold it until You see the low pressure light blink on the display three times. When this happens, release the button. Start the engine and allow it to run at least 20 minutes. This gives the system time to receive an air pressure reading from all four sensors. Turn the ignition off and then start the vehicle again to make sure the light isn't on. If You have trouble the first time, try driving the vehicle for 20 minutes rather than just allowing it to run.
