Everyone's vehicle ownership experience will vary based on a number of factors but I think it's safe to say that barring any major accidents, a Dodge Ram 1500 has the potential to last for 200k miles or more. If You search around enough You'll find some people who had trouble from the very start and others who got to 300k miles with no major issues. Some things may be out of Your control but following Your manuals guide for maintenance very closely is a big part of keeping Your truck on the road for many years. Always check Your fluids, use a synthetic motor oil and change it every 5,000 to 7,000 miles, and drive carefully and You can avoid lots of problems. -

Is it worth buying a 2015 Dodge Ram 1500 Bighorn with 90,000 miles with all the toys in for 31,000 is this good buy? Thanks
I've got a '90 W250 with the 5.9 gas in it. Rotted and rusted but strong as a bull. She's got 465,800 miles on her. I've also got an '88 Dakota with the 3.9 in it and it's in great shape with 330,000 on her. I still have my first Dodge i ever bought too, a '99 Ram 1500 with the 5.9 gas and she has 535,500 miles on her. I alternate between these trucks for my daily commute, 80 miles a day to the steel mill I work at. They have been mine for two decades. And the best cars I own. If you're gonna buy a Dodge, don't buy anything newer then '99 them First and Second gen Dodges are the best.

I have owned my 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 quad cab as the second owner now since 1998. When I bought the truck it already had over 70,000 miles It now currently has over 350,000 miles on it. Never have changed the engine. I've only have had the transmission rebuilt just this last year. I love this truck. It has literally taking me to hell and back and has never left me stranded.

I have a 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 5.9 236029 miles on it. Lift kit on it and all same engine one owner.Driving it now
I have a 08 dodge1500 with a 5.7 and have 500009 miles on the original drive train and never had to do anything to it except the breaks tires and rebuild the rear end. And she still towed a 5th wheel trailer and won’t die. Got to love these trucks.

I've had my 98 1500 since it came off the line it's at 550,196 still running like a top with regular maintenance this truck will easily make it to 1 million. These engines are bulletproof the transmissions are finicky but as long as you stay on top of the sensors no big deal

My 1995 3.9 has 279, 000 on it. I bought it cheap with 140,000 on it. Had the motor rebuilt after buying it. I change the oil every 3,000 mi., and know it will have no trouble hitting 500,000 mi.

I have a 2012 ram 1500 with a 4.7 liter and so far I have over 270.000 miles with oil and filter changed every 5 to 7 thousand miles and up to now not one problem whatsoever. Same engine and transmission. I’m counting on hitting 400k at least without repairing the transmission, we will see.
I have a 2005 with the 5 7 and have 200,800 miles on it. Black, dual exhaust, headers, superchips tuner, Taylor shorty wires, 35" tires. Only had to replace EGR valve and exhaust manifold gaskets. It's a nasty truck, eats imports all day long
