The Hyundai Elantra isn't exactly known for rugged durability, but it does have a surprising longevity. There are anecdotal accounts of Elantra models lasting for upwards of 300,000 miles, so that's certainly not out of the question. However, it's important to note that the Elantra, like other vehicles, is a product of its maintenance; the better You treat Your car, the better it will treat You. With proper care and maintenance, it's probably safe to assume that barring catastrophe, Your Elantra will last for upwards oF-150,000 miles. With preventative maintenance, top quality fluids, and nonaggressive driving, You're probably looking at close to 250,000. Add in a little luck to the previous, and You too could join the 300,000 mile club.

I have a 2006 Elantra still running, not currently used due to COVID-19: but in March 2020 I had over 394,000 km which is equal to 246,000 miles. I was driving over 6,000 km a month over the last year, or about 3750 miles a month...there's a driver's instructor driving a 2006 Elantra who has 800,000 km on it, which is over 500,000 miles...!

Hi everyone, not to brag but Iam excited to see all of your elantras still surviving today. I have and am proud of my 2003 elantra with 365,517 original miles. Same engine no rebuild. I am proud of my classy beautiful lady. Her body needs work but she loves to live. Good luck everyone with your babies.

My 2008 Elantra has 216,000 miles. Ive only had to replace the blower motor, the driver side window regulator, and alternator. Now I need motor mounts and shocks/struts. Those are expensive repairs but this car has been wonderful. It my 3rd Elantra. My son wants me to trade it in. I want to do the repairs and try for another 100,000 miles. Has anyone had there's for that many miles?

On my second Elantra a 2014, Gave my 2008 to my son. Neither one has ever seen the inside of a Service Garage for anything but a oil change, in 2024 when warranty is off I will buy another. Best reliable auto ever made.

My 2013 Elantra is at 297,000. Replaced alternator & serpentine belt at 200K, replaced trans at 266K with replacement with 65K miles, fuel pump @ 285K. The secret? Maybe full synthetic oil every 7,500 mile. Very dependable. 1st Hyundai was a Sonata at 258K miles.

Most suggest that the hyundai elantra will last at least until around 150,000 or longer. The powertrain of the vehicle is under warranty for 10 years or 100,000 miles.

Just bought 2013 Elantra for my daughter $3700. I didn't flinch or bargain on the fact of it's 200,525 miles. I previously owned a 2007 Sonata which had exactly 100,00 miles when I drowned it in a flash flood 18 months ago. Sad, I was going to pass it on to my daughter because knew it would last at least another 100,000 miles. I replaced the 2007 with a 2016 Sonata $15,000. Did this because I never had any problems with the other one having driven it for more than 12 years. I had experience and trust with Hyndai so buying the Elantra was a no brainer. All of the reporting here of Hyndai durability and longevity are amazing but don't surprise me. Just a good confirmation of what I already knew. My daughter is in love with her Elantra. A low maintenance car for a high maintenance girl!

I have a 2014 Elantra & I bought it @ 64k miles in December 2017. I do Lyft & Uber and as of today, February 8, 2021, I’m at 193k miles. I’ll be taking it in for full service soon, but no complaints to say I drive so much. Plus I live in New Orleans & our roads are HORRIBLE (pot holes & uneven roads)

I have a 2012 elantra I bought at 7000mi with a salvage title. As of now in 2021 it's got 250,000mi and was almost totaled again in 2018. I've only done brakes, plugs (once at 125,000), and about 10 sets of tires. Drove highway over the mountains every day about 30,000mi a year. It needs rear shocks and maybe I should change the belt. :) Indestructible little car that's fun to drive too.

2010 Elantra, got it used with only 17K miles in 2012. Had to have an engine replaced somewhere in the mid-late 20-teens but it was still under warranty, thank god. Now, in 2021, at 108K miles, it's just starting to have major issues, needing all brake silvers replaced, timing belt, spark plugs and other random things replaced. Hoping if I do these things now, it will get me another 2-3 years so I can save for a new car.

Proper maintenance is the key tbh. To put it in perspective it is 240,000 miles to the moon so we are on our way back to Earth. Hope we make it 😂

I've had a 2001, 2003, and currently a 2005 Hyundai Elantra. Have always taken excellent care of my cars, and the 2001 and 2003 exceeded 250,000 miles. I believe the 2003 is still running strong. My current 2005 is starting to burn a little bit of oil between oil changes but

I have a 2009 Elantra. I had to replace the original battery last year in 2020. The a.c. Went at 9 years and the dealership did not do a great job fixing it. The thermostat had to be replaced this year, new steering column put in (under warranty) and this weekend, the serpentine belt broke. Mech. Said the alternator voltage is low. Not a bad car, I'd like to purchase a new car (not sure if I'll get another one) but it is a terrible time to buy a car right now (in 2021)...Car has 92,300 miles on it.
