There are two different catalytic converters on the 2009 Buick Enclave -- one in the Bank 1 position, and one in the Bank 2 position. This is great for the environment, but harsh for Your wallet; You can expect an '09 Enclave to cost between $900 and $2000 to replace, and since You've got two of them, that's the potential for twice the trouble. There's not much You can do to keep them running in tip-top shape, aside from replacing oxygen sensors as soon as Your car calls for it. The most common vector of failure is melting and plugging, so You'll want to do everything You can to ensure that Your exhaust doesn't run too hot.
