To change the cruise control to display in mph in the Ford Escape follow these simple steps. On the SYNC display, push the Settings tab, then scroll the menu down and select General, scroll down and choose Distance, finally select MPH. To set the cruise control, press the SET + button when You are at the desired speed and remove Your foot from the gas pedal. Your speed will be maintained until You either press the brake pedal or press the cancel button which is the X on the steering wheel controls. To adjust Your speed press and hold either the SET + or SET - buttons until the desired speed is met.

That is 100% incorrect, that advice does not work.

To change cruise control to miles per hour on the ford escape, go to sync display, settings, general, then distance.

I agree with Robert, changing the distance setting is NOT going to solve the issue.

As others have stated above, there is no “easy fix” for this issue with re-imported Canadian cars. Although it is not etched in the dash as these types of things used to be when back lit it is none the less as similarly permanent. The only solution to the issue is to install a new instrument panel with the correct display and adjust the mileage to match what is current on the vehicle, also difficult to do as dealers are very disinclined or prevented by Ford policy Or state law. C’est la vie

Robert is exactly correct it won't fix the problem. I contact FORD with no results. Sales men said learn French.
