If the 2013 Ford Explorer's sunroof is stuck open it is not possible to close manually without gaining access to the motor. In most cases the fault lies in a blown sunroof/moonroof fuse or a faulty motor. The sunroof fuse can be located in the cabin's fuse box. It is number 2 and powered by 20 amps. It is labeled "moonroof" or "moonroof/heated seats". The plugs are housed under the dash panel on the driver's side of the cabin to the left of the steering wheel. The flip side of the cover should contain a diagram and the inside of the box will come equipped with a plug puller. The cost to have the motor replaced on a Ford Explorer averages between $500-$550.

There’s the Allen key insert at the bottom of the motor!

Start by removing the dome light by inserting a flathead screwdriver under the edge and prying it away from the light. Remove the screws that hold the dome light, and pull it down, making sure to unplug any electrical connections. Unscrew the plastic plastic runners that hold the headliner into place, and then loosen the headliner by pulling down on the edges until the sunroof motor is exposed. Find the connector for the sunroof motor, insert and turn the wrench clockwise until the sunroof is completely closed.

Using the Ford Motor company stock motor, there is no location to insert a wrench and close manually.
