ProgRamming a key fob for the 2013 Ford Explorer is a relatively simple process, but requires a fair amount of attention to detail. In order to complete the process, You'll first need to close all doors and then open the driver's side door. Press the UNLOCK button on the interior of that door. Then, turn the ignition from OFF to RUN and back eight times within 10 seconds, with the final toggle ending on the RUN option. This allows You to enter "progRamming" mode, of which You'll be notified by the doors locking and unlocking. Once in progRamming mode, You'll need to press any button on the Ford remote to be progRammed, within eight seconds. You'll then hear the locks cycle again to confirm the progRamming. If You have more key fobs to be progRammed, You can press a button on those remotes as well once in progRamming mode. If You're done, You'll turn the ignition to OFF, and the locks will again cycle to confirm that Your fob progRamming is complete.
