While Ford's MyKey can be a valuable safety feature for teens and Young adults (or just for lending out Your car to anyone), it can be frustrating when You're limited in what You can do in Your own vehicle. Fortunately, it's fairly simple to disable it on the 2010 Ford Escape. First, You'll need to start Your car, and wait for the onboard computer and screen to power on. Access the main menu via the display controls located on Your steering wheel. Navigate to "Settings", and then "MyKey", before pressing "OK". Under that submenu, You'll find an item that says "Clear MyKey". Select this item, and press and hold "OK" for a few seconds, until You see the message "All MyKeys Cleared".

To turn off mykey, start by using the admin key to turn the car on. Press settings on the menu screen until you reach the reset button to clear mykey, press and hold the reset until it says all mykeys cleared.
