The first thing You should check if Your Toyota 4Runner's dashboard lights aren't working is the instrument cluster fuse. However, a blown fuse is rarely (if ever) the sole reason for issues; something had to have blown the fuse in the first place. Therefore, even if this is Your problem, You should continue trying to diagnose the issue so that it doesn't happen again. Are all of the dash lights out, or juSTSpecific ones If it's only a small subset, You may have a failed lightbulb in Your dashboard. However, the odds are low that multiple lights will burn out at once, so You should also take that into consideration. Also, be sure that You haven't accidentally set the dimmer too low; this can be a face-palm moment that can cause Your dashboard lights to go dark.

If the dashboard lights aren't working in a toyota 4runner, try checking the fuse box for a blown fuse, it is located under the dash on the drivers side.
