Is a Dodge Avenger considered a sports car?

The Dodge Avenger waS-Classified as a midsize sports car between 1994 and 2000. Sports car enthusiasts never really adopted the Avenger into their world. Some claim it was the lack of power from the engine others say was because of their size. Beginning in 2007 and up until 2014, the Avenger lost the sports car moniker and waS-Classified solely as a Mid-sized car.
