There have been some problems reported with the transmission in the 2008 Lincoln MKX. While most of the issues relate to low or d***y fluid there have been some exceptions. One of the most common is a faulty speed sensor. The sensor monitors the speed of the transmission which is used by the transmission control module 2 shift into a higher or lower gear. A bad sensor could cause the transmission two shipped really hard when going from park into drive or reverse. Other transmission problems are a bad solenoid or fluid pump, there could be a fluid leak caused by a bad gasket or broken line. A faulty transmission control module would seriously alter the transmission performance as well.
