Since the 2019 Ford Transit Connect is a newer model year, not enough time has passed for all of the transmission problems to truly shake out. However, Ford already has an open recall on certain 2019 and 2020 models of the Transit Connect, for missing or loose bolts on the start stop accumulator endcap, which results in transmission fluid loss. See Recall #20V550000, issued on 9/10/2020. This can, predictably, be an issue; losing transmission fluid is an easy way to eventually blow up Your transmission due to overheating. You should get the recall work completed as soon as possible, and keep a vigilant eye on Your transmission fluid levels. While You may not notice a leak, over time even a small loss of fluid can lead to catastrophic failure.

Our facility has 5 transit connect delivery vehicles with about 110k miles each. Each and every one has the jerky transmission problem. One of the vehicles' transmission was replaced at the local Ford dealer at a cost of > $4000. Can't this be a computer issue? Anyone know the answer?

2019 Transit Connect 77,250 miles. Complete rebuild transmission $5,028.68. Gotta be an issue for investigation. Too many of these 8 speed trans are a problem. Before rebuild, noted to dealer almost everytime I got an oil change that the transmission was either slipping, jerking or clunking....No codes was always the answer or shifting within parameters.....

Same here just this week. Threw a code about possible solenoid issue, Ford said fluid looked fine but it would be 2 weeks before they could drop the transmission pan and look. Recommended driving until the error came up again. It just came up again, with the result being a completely trashed transmission. Full replacement is quoted about $7,700. Van has 78,000 miles on it - 90% of those are highway miles. I'm actually wondering if these transmissions have issues with highway mileage. Seems to be a theme I'm noticing. Either way, far too many of these popping up.

I have a 2019 Transit Connet which is presenting me with transmission problems only with 74K miles the high price paid at the dealer with a 0 mile car, I am totally disappointed in the Ford, I recently picked up the car that was found in service at a Ford dealer after almost a week waiting for a diagnosis, it's incredible they asked me for more than $6000 dollars just for assumptions, without an exam, I took my car from the dealer, because Ford is not able to solve any problem to its customers, it's just causing problems

2019TC XLT LWB At 62,800 got a dashboard warning “wrench”. Got it to the dealer who is telling me it requires a new transmission. It’s had all service performed at the dealer and the recall was completed. I’m hoping for a goodwill repair. Love the van but very disappointed to experience a huge failure at low mileage

We've had an issue with our Ford Transit Connect that has about 84,000 miles on it. Our local Ford dealership is quoting us $7,900 for an internal transmission failure. I don't think we'll ever buy another Ford vehicle.

Exact same problem. Jerky transmission From time to time from day one. Dealer stated everytime they could not replicate. Now at 60k it’s slipping! There needs to be a recall!

2020 model transmission total failure Ford put a new one in 39.000 miles now at 129.000 it’s unlike last time giving me odd hard shift 2nd to 3rd…. There really losing commercial business over this….the Dodge Ram full size van is even worse.. Every one of them are losing there transmission under 70.000 there small pro master losing engines under 100.K there all euro light duty c**p .. Fords dropping the connect 2024 dodge the pro master and the ram van .. All dropping them .. The Chevy express with its old technology seems to be solid .. The full size transit also now the bugs are worked out the 10 speed transmission… should be good from this point… 3.7 non turbo is the better engine for long life…

I have exactly the same issue 2019 model. The vehicle got rebuilt from the dealership when the vehicle is at 58,000 They rebuilt the transmission under the warranty Now the vehicle is 100,000 miles we have a same issues. This they want$10,000 for a transmission replacement They also tell me if I want to go cheaper and rebuilt rebuilt transmission is $500 less. Which totally making no sense. We mostly highway mileage on a vehicle.

Took my 2019 Transit Connect van in for its 100,000 mile check up (odometer was 96,000 miles). Check up includes includes inspection of power train/transmission including fluid levels, etc.. Got it back July 23rd. On August 1st (Monday), (the power train/transmission had a problem changing gears when I was about a mile from home. Didn’t drive it again until yesterday morning when we took it to Ford. The warning generated was solid color not flashing (if flashing do not drive have car towed). The warning: “power train malfunction/reduced power, contact dealership. Yesterday the Dealership repair guy says transmission is shot but they can’t take it apart to figure out why for a couple months & they don’t know if Ford will cover the work. We’re having it towed to the next closest authorized Ford dealership/repair (70 miles from me). They said they can look at it on Tuesday, but have no clue how long it will take to do the work. Here are the warnings generated yesterday while it was at the dealership: (they automatically show up on my phone on the ford app): “The power train control system has detected that the transmission fluid pressure sensor reading was either higher or lower than expected for the vehicles operating conditions” “Power train control module has received a barometric pressure reading outside of the expected value” “The power train control system has detected one of the transmission clutches did not apply within the expected time. Some transmission gears may not be available resulting in delayed or hard shifts into another gear” The power train control system has detected one of the transmission shift solenoids is not responding or is stuck in the on position” Finally, there is a recall having to do with shifting into park, but the repair guy said unrelated: “may be possible the transmission cable bushing is damaged or missing which could prevent the transmission from moving into the intended gear position & cause the vehicle to move into an expected position. Ford will contact you when they have produced parts for the repair, anticipated availability is 4th quarter 2022”
