One of the most common problems with the ignition switch of a Dodge Ram 1500 is a blown fuse. Another problem that may occur in the long run is faulty wiring, or a damaged ignition switch itself. These problems have been reported by a number of owners where they say their cars stopped starting due to a bad ignition switch. You may need to have Your vehicle get a switch replacement if You keep experiencing ignition problems. In some cases, a simple oiling of the ignition can make it work properly, when using the regular key to start it. Have a mechanic take a look, and they will determine if it should be fixed or replaced.

Hard to get ignition to go to off position when very hot outside. I live in az. It's a 2006 with 273 thousand plus miles!
My 2013 Ram 1500 Hemi had new ignition put in. Even with new switch I had to switch it on and off a few times before it would start now it doesn’t even do that . Can someone help me please. I spent $1100 at the Dodge dealership on this situation and still have a problem.
