Usually when a Dodge Ram 1500 has starting problems the most likely cause is either a dead battery or a starter motor problem. The first thing that You should check is the battery resting voltage, if it is below 12.4 that could be a sign that there is a problem. When You try to start the car if there is no noise then it is usually a problem with the battery. If You hear a clicking or grinding noise then that may be a sign of a problem with the starter motor. Always make sure that the wires are tight on Your battery and Your starter since loose wires can cause an incomplete connection.

My 2020 has some starting issues, 5.7 hemi bighorn norther addition. There is a wire running from the solenoid to the start that has appeared to be damage/insulation has fallen off. If i cycle the start sequence enough time it will eventually start but on the failed starts it will just click.

Although there are a number of reasons why your dodge ram 1500 will not start, the most popular 3 are a dead battery, an alternator problem, or a failed starter.

The common starting problems in a dodge ram 1500 series are usually related to the battery or starter motor.
