The main complaint associated with the Dodge Ram's air conditioning concerns 2019 and 2020 models. Owners state that the truck's AC never reaches temp and even when set at full blast, emits underpowered air that fails to adequately cool the cabin. Although no recall or TSB exists yet, both FIAT Chrysler and dealerships admit to the system being faulty. Most attribute the AC's substandard performance to a computer error that needs a software update. Some Ram owners have successfully canvassed dealerships to replace both the AC compressor and temperature sensor at no cost, but the repair does not seem to fully remedy the issue. However, an equal number of Dodge customers report air conditioning that works extremely well, so the problem may be isolated to only certain vehicles.
Been looking forever for something like this, my 2019 laramie is in perfect condition but the air flow is just not there and never has been, ive gone as far as limo tint all the way around a full brow on the windshiled to keep from sweating. Air is ice cold and sounds like a jet engine but cant feel it more than 5 inches from the vent
My 2019 Dodge Ram has a recurring history of failure with the compressor. It has been replaced twice already and has gone again. The first was replaced only 9 months after purchase. Then again, exactly one year later. Thankfully, it is still under warranty for two more mints with just 52000 Kms on it. Why is this happening? Will it be an annual replacement event at my own expense in the future? Is their a design flaw in the compressor or in the alignment of pulley wheels in the truck itself? It appears that the rubber bushing in the front of the compressor undergoes catastrophic failure and tears apart. It doesn’t seem to go gradually, but very suddenly. A strong rubber burning order and a large flume of smoke from under the bonnet
