You'll occasionally find some problems with the transmission in the 2011 Chevrolet Cruze -- specifically, the issue of no reverse (or no forward gears) has been known to rear its ugly head with many drivers, past and present. This can typically be traced back to a faulty transmission control module; more particularly, a transmission shift solenoid, which is part of the module. This was so much of a problem that General Motors put out a technical service bulletin (TSB) in 2016 about it -- You'll learn more by searching for TSB 16-NA-092. Unfortunately, the swap is an expensive one, as there's a good chance Your '11 is no longer under warranty. You'll be looking at around $375 to $450 for the part alone, or $525 to $625 through an auto mechanic (parts and labor).
