The u1900 fault code refers to a manufacturer specific code that is categorized by Ford, and is caused when there is a failure in the communication bus. When it fails to receive a specific error, or cannot relay that message to the powertrain control module, it usually displays this error code. This can also be triggered by a communication failure between other components. The ABS control module, the trailer brake and the instrument cluster are all important components of this system and so, the u1900 code could appear when any of these parts fail to transmit their signals to the PCM. If Youve seen this error appear on Your vehicle, dont fret. Its a surprisingly common issue and can sometimes be caused by loose wiring as well. A trip to the nearest mechanic or dealership should easily resolve the problem.
