The yellow wrench light in the 2008 Honda Accord is the maintenance minder system indicator. The maintenance minder system works with the computer to monitor various engine components and conditions and will alert the driver when it is time to change the oil. Honda no longer recommends a certain mileage between oil changes, instead, it illuminates the yellow wrench warning light to let the driver know when it feels the conditions have been met and it has determined there is less than 15% of the oil life left. It's recommended to use API certified premium grade 5W-20 detergent oil, synthetic oil may be used as long as it meets the same certifications. The Accord can hold 5.6 quarts of oil in the 2.4 liter engines and 5.3 quarts in the models with the V6.

The wrench light on the 2008 Honda Accord is the Maintenance Minder Indicator. If the remaining engine oil life of the 2008 Honda Accord is 15 to 6 percent, you will see the engine oil life indicator every time you turn on the ignition. The maintenance minder indicator will also come on, and the maintenance item code(s) for other scheduled maintenance items needing service will be displayed next to the engine oil life indicator.

This means oil is low or past the milage for changing.
