To reset the maintenance light on the 2001 Honda Accord is simple and takes a few minutes. What You're going to need to do is put Your key in the ignition to the ON position. Then press and hold onto the Restart button on the dash. Turn the ignition OFF then turn it back to the ON position. Hold the Restart button for another 10 seconds. As soon as You see the light go out, You can let go of the button. You can now turn the ignition OFF and turn the engine on to verify that the light is still off.

Hold the reset button turn the car off then on while holding the button should turn off in about 10 seconds if not try again. Do not turn engine on.

Depress the RESET button *before* turning the key to the ON position (when you hear the beeping noise and other dashboard lights come on you'll know you've reached the ON position). Continue to hold the button down until the MAINT REQ'D light goes out, a period of about ten seconds. That's it.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO CLEAR THE MATIENCE REQUIRED LIGHT OFF OF YOUR DASH FOR YOUR 2001 HONDA ACCORD THEN TAKE YOUR KEY AND PRETEND YOUR GOING TO START YOUR CAR LIKE WHEN MOM RUNS IN THE STORE AND YOU TURN THE KEY ON JUST ENOUGH TO WERE THE RADIO HAS POWER YES THAT POISTION OF YOUR EGNITION !! AND AS SOON AS YOU PUT The key in the Ignition and turn it over to that part without starting it. You should see the - lights all on. And everything has power, but the car's not running. And you know that little button on your dash the one you hold down to reset your mileage. Yes, you're gonna put your finger on that button and hold it down for 10 seconds. The way I do it is I count 1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 mississippi 4 Mississippi, 5 Mississippi, 6 Mississippi, 7 Mississippi, 8 mississipp 9 Mississippi 10 Mississippi after you counted to ten Mississippi Continue to keep your finger on that button on the dash And while doing that, you're gonna turn the Ignition off do not let go of the button On the dash though keep on holding that button, and Immediately turned ignition back to that same position that you had it before and your finger is still on that same button on the dash then your going to do like you just did before and count 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 Mississippi, And then you should notice that after you hit your 10th Mississippi that maintenance required light on your dash has Disappeared now turn your mission completely off and you can let go of the - button. Now, after you turn your Ignition completely off. Turn car on and crank it. And there should be no maintenance required. Light on your - Dash at all, okay, good luck.

To reset the maintenance light in a 2001 honda accord, put the key in the ignition to the on position with the engine off. Hold the reset button by the odometer for 10 seconds. You should see the maintenance light blink. Start the car after this and the light should be off.
