From time to time, You'll find it necessary to reset the anti-theft alarm on the 2004 Honda CR-V. There are two ways to do so, with varying rates of success; if You have a little patience and want to try it the "easy" way, You can disconnect Your battery's negative terminal for a period of 30 or more minutes. This is often unreliable, as many faults will persist through a power outage. Alternatively, the manufacturer's reset procedure involves putting the key into the ignition and turning it to the ON position (with the engine NOT running). Turn the key back one click, then push the button the alarm box under the steering wheel three times. You'll hear two toots of the horn if the reset was successful.

Put the key in the driver's door to reset the alarm on a 2004 honda crv, and turn it twice to the right, then twice to the left.
