The 2017 Ford Escape fastens each wheel with five lug nuts, each having thread that measures M12 X1.5. This is the most important measurement, because it will always need to be the same for replacements. From the manufacturer, the hex head iS3/4 inch and the overall length is 1.45 inch, but if You or a previous owner replaced them, this may vary. It's also important to ensure that each lug nut is torqued to specification, which in the case of the '17 Escape, is 135 Nm. Converted to the more common lb-ft, You're just a hair under 100. Undertightening can cause wobble, or even the wheels becoming dislodged. Overtightening can lead to seizing, breakage, or failure to remove the lug nuts in an emergency situation.

I have an OEM equipped 2017 Escape Titanium 4wd that does not have 3/4"-19mm lug nuts. They are bigger, from the factory. Even the wrench that is in the trunk does not fit them.

My daughter had the same problem. They swell with age. She found out when she went to have a leak in her tire. Tire place told her it happens with Fords. She always had them rotated by the ford dealership but was never told.

My 2017 Escape Titanium had the odd-ball lug nuts, not listed in any Ford documentation and not supported by any regular metric or SAE size socket set. Impossible to get off without destroying them. So, I destroyed them by pounding on the wrong size socket (0.5 mm too-small) and replaced with standard size. Minimal cost, less than $20.

Fords cheap design, i had to replace mine on my fusion, its a capped finish over steel. I just rotated my daughters ford escape 2017 and they are bad also, here lug nut wrench wouldn't even fit. Had to use mine and work it on each one carefully.
