The 2018 Honda CR-V does not have a known issue with the electronic parking brake. That said if it is not working as it should then there are a couple of reasons. The first is that the fuse that powers it has burned out. Check the fuse box in the panel to the left of the steering wheel. If this is not the issue then You will need to check the wires that are powering the lever. Finally, there may be an issue with the brakes themselves, such as a bad brake pad or low brake fluid. Any of these can cause the parking brake to not work properly and should be fixed, less You have Your car roll away.

CRV brakes have automatically stopped without any vehicles near the front of the vehicle. I read that this is being investigated by the NTHB in Honda's 2017-2019 this can cause a serious rear end collision or scare you to pieces when it has happened on the highway without notice.
