Unfortunately, You'll need to be more specific about which ground wire You're looking for. The Chevrolet Silverado has dozens of different ground wires for different components, from the battery to the engine to the transmission and others. The locations of each of these would take a full day and a short novel to write out. Maybe You're looking for the battery ground wires; in which case, You'll be able to locate them by following the negative terminal from the battery. You should find one going to the frame, one to the fender, and one to the engine (near the thermostat housing). You'll find another going from the engine block to the firewall. You'll also find three from the positive terminal -- to the starter, the alternator, and to the firewall.

The ground wire near the battery is located at the back of the engine compartment on the firewall.
