The Chevy Silverado p1516 code is a throttle body communication issue. This fault will usually be discovered because the vehicle will be in limp mode. There are many issues that could cause this code. A faulty throttle body, what can cause between $300 and $500 to replace. The throttle body position sensor could fail, which could cost up to $250 to replace. The throttle body wiring harness could have damage from heat or corrosion that could cost a couple hundred dollars to replace. A bad throttle body module could cause this code to be thrown and putting the truck in limp mode. A bad ground or electrical short is a possibility too. It's better to have a trained technician diagnose the problem rather than chasing the issue Yourself.

The p1516 code for the chevy silverado lets you know that the throttle actuator control (tac) module has a performance issue related to its position. Most of the time the tac module is bad.

My 4.8vortexis throwing the p1516 code I’ve replaced the TACmodule , throttle body , accelerator pedal still throwing the same code causing (reduced engine power) my next step will be to check for bad grounds and the pig tail on the TPS I’ve also read that a vacuum leak could cause the same problem
