The 2010 Dodge Charger uses regular unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Do not ever put E85 or diesel fuel into Your Charger because it will destroy the fuel system or the engine. You should usually use the highest octane rating that You can afFord. A higher octane rating will have a cleaner and more complete burn in Your engine and that will help reduce carbon buildup in the cylinders or on the valves. There are also fuels that are listed as top tier. These gasolines usually have detergents and additives in them that will help clean sludge out of Your engine to keep it running well for longer.

The 2010 Dodge Charger takes 87 octane fuel in the 2.7L engines and 89 octane fuel for the 3.5L and 5.7L engines. Although Dodge recommends using 89 octane for optimum performance for the 3.6L and 5.7L engines, 87 octane can also be used. Premium fuel above 89 octane is not necessary and Dodge reports it will offer no benefit over regular gasoline.
