The 2017 Chrysler Pacifica came standard with a 3.6 L V6 engine and there was no option to upgrade to anything else. This engine will need to run on 0W-20 synthetic blend oil now matter what weather climate You live in as this oil will not freeze even in low temps. The oil capacity will be 5 US quarts when the filter is included. If You want to change out the oil Yourself on this vehicle You'll need to use a 16mm socket for the oil drain plug head and if You are using a torque wrench You'll need to set it to 20 ft-lbs.

People mention engine damage if other than 0W-20 is used. The owner's manual also says 5W-20, 0W-30, 5W-30 and 10W-30. What engine damage are people talking about?

The Pacifica requires full synthetic 0W-20 oil to maintain the engine function. Any other oil will cause damage to the engine and may permanently harm it. If you do not want to change your own oil, repair shops and service stations are fully equipped to do so.
