Across all configurations of the 2016 GMC Yukon, You'll find four different engines, DenaliAnd XL notwithstanding. You may have either A5.3L V8 or A6.2L V8, and each of those comes in a regular gasoline or a Flex Fuel variant. Regardless, each engine useS8.0 quarts of SAE 0W-20 full synthetic motor oil at all ambient temperatures. This can be substituted with SAE 5W-20 over the short term, but it's not recommended as it introduces undue friction into Your system. Higher oil weight numbers mean higher viscosity (thickness), which can cause Your engine to work harder to produce the same output. This, predictably, causes premature wear and tear, and can eventually lead to early engine failure. Therefore, You'll want to stick with the 0W-20 whenever possible, even if it costs a little more.
